OCTOBER 9 AND 13, 2008
This is my first experience of autumn here in our new house on
Wellington Place. All these were taken right by my house or
within a few blocks.
This is the 'Felix Forest' right across from the front of my house. It was just starting to turn on the 9th...
but by the 13th, the poplars had a lot more color to them.
The next several I took late on the 9th within a few blocks of my house. The low sun was brilliant by this maple on Silvas Rd.
These are along Hilty Rd.
Back on Silvas, even the poison ivy has its beauty in October.
Looking east on Silvas, my usual way to go home.
My first and, so far, only rose bush here...glows in the late afternoon sun.
This and the next two I took standing in my daughter, Laura's, back yard. So they are 10 minutes away.
The rest now are all from Monday, October 13th. This is the base of the Felix Forest right across from my house.
Across Silvas Rd. from our development.
Near my mailbox
The Felix Forest...
A small red dogwood at the edge of the Felix Forest.
At the very edge of my yard where it drops off to the small stream far below.
Tree I see out my dining room window on the back of the house.
We are the second house from the end of a dead end and this is what that end looks like now.
Poplars and sassafras at the dead end
More at the dead end
Behind our neighbor's house
These two are at the dead end, too.
