Essence of Beauty

Simple it was...

        shades of lavender

              paling into rose,

A quiet pose

        in morning's light,

              serene, composed

And unaware of either.

It merely...was.

Only then

       I understood

                 how spare of line,

How softly simple

       beauty is

                  as it slides

Into the soul.
