JAMES J. BRADDOCK

On December 7, 2008 Marilyn Auman, one of the Libriscrowe authors, took a trip into the area where Jim
Braddock lived, photographing his home, church, and burial site. The brick home is the one
in North Bergen, NJ which he bought with the winnings from the Max Baer fight. The church is St. Joseph of
the Palisades Catholic Church in West New York, NJ. Jim went to St. Joseph's parochial school, he and Mae
were married in this church and hisfuneral was held in this church, which is a four minute drive from his home.
The grave site is in Mount Carmel Cemetery on Serpentine Road in Tenafly, NJ. The site is East St. Patrick
grave 47. The red roses were left by Marilyn. The stones are from other visitors to the site. Marilyn plans to
return in the spring to take the ferry to New York and visit the docks of Weehawken and Hoboken as well as
take pictures of the interior of St. Joseph's. I'll post an update when those go up.
