OCTOBER'S FINAL GLOW

October 21, 2012

Looking out my front window, nearly all the yellow and red across the road from me has faded in the last

couple of days to browns and I thought how quickly it had all gone since my two days of picture taking

Wednesday and Thursday.  Now it was only Sunday and there was nothing out my window worth

photographing.  The day was mostly cloudy with a few peeks of sunshine now and then, but around

2 PM Carl and I headed north on 66, going about 10 miles this time to Northmoreland Park, where

we'd never been before.  Nearly all these pictures were taken there, where I was pleased to find that

October DID still have a glow.

HERE for the Wed. & Thurs. pictures

I really liked these because they were deep amber and rust

Northmoreland is a big park, mostly wooded, with two lakes.  This is the smaller one.

This looks like a watercolor to me and is the reflection of a bare bush in the lake

Then I found an area of sweet gums and was quite happy there for a while

I think sweet gums have about the widest range of coloring on the same tree

Though I admit this maple was giving the sweet gums a run for the money
