SEARCHING FOR COLOR ON A CLOUDY DAY
OCTOBER 13, 2013
Autumn tends to last from 3:12 PM to 3:36 PM on the third Wednesday of October, so you've got to get out
there and GET it while it's there. It was very cloudy this Sunday but I wanted to see if I could find color in
spite of the clouds, so set out on my own in full hunting mode. I took all of these but for three by a larger
lake out the window of my car.
Okay, so there's blue sky in this one but I took it a couple of days ago standing in my front doorway because I like to record the
progress of the Felix Forest across the street.
This autumn is coming in bits and pieces and among the greens and the leaves that have merely crisped and browned, you can find such as this.
Whatever any other trees are doing, it's a good year for sassafras
Same sassafras with a maple beside it
Wider view of them
and closer of that maple
Dogwood with its berries above and below
Here 'n there a red maple makes its presence known
This was a road I'd never been on before. How could you pass a road like this and NOT see what lies up it? The next 7 pictures did.
Even though there's little color in this one, I took it because I liked the arrangement of what I saw out my window.
I love all these back roads we have around here.
It's hard to see but there's a pond down there...kinda greenish pond
