MY TWO CHRISTMAS POEMS ON JO'S OTHER PLACE:
THE HEART GOES HOME
WET STRAW AND STARLIGHT
AND CHRISTMAS CLIPART...HERE
This is my 5th year now for this tree. I'm still really happy with it. Very!
Looking across living room toward front door
New golden tree on the dining room table. I got it when Pat Catan's was having a 'get rid of last year's stuff' sale earlier in the fall.
Looking across the dining room table toward the Christmas tree. I do love the open quality of this house.
Snowmen are on the left this year instead of the right
...and wooden trees and my grandmother's church are on the right
My grandmother loved this little plastic church and always had it set up atop her mahogany piano
This is the center of the family room coffee table. The glass tree is new (2 dollars at a thrift store) and divides into 4 sections. Is big.
I've had that plastic Merry Christmas for sooo many years. I used to hang it on our mailbox. We don't have a mailbox here.
I think I need another china cabinet...or 3, maybe 4!
The grandparent angels. I love words and have lots about, even at Christmas. The tree says PEACE and the gold on the right NOEL.
Kitchen window over my sink. The reindeer hugging the tree is a favorite of mine.
Across the room (and below) is my advent Noah's ark, given to me by Bert in Louisiana some years ago. Each door contains an animal to put
atop the ark for every day in December leading up to Christmas. Church windows below it are new this year.
I tend to rescue teddy bears from thrift shops.
Pink Santa and stuffed tree are both from thrift stores.
I took down my watercolor painting of the Raleigh Tavern in Williamsburg and stuck up an extra wreath I carried around for about 15 minutes,
trying to figure where the heck to PUT it! It's surrounded by Williamsburg plates. Yes, I love Williamsburg. My ancestors lived there.
And below that wreath are my Civil War DVD's. I love Civil War DVD's.
Just a bit to the left of that is this tapestry. It lives there year 'round but is actually rather a Christmas thing. I love the horses outside the church.
On the kitchen island is my little crystal tree I got last year with the angel Jackie in Alaska sent me last year. I use her year 'round in one way or another.
Two more back in the living room. I took more of stuff but this is enough for this page, I do think. Joseph was new last year, too.
I've put links below to other years. It can be interesting to see what's changed, what's still a little the same.
